CARING FOR YOUR DENTURES

Cleaning during the daily care of your dentures is essential to avoid stains, and odor, and to keep them looking their finest. For everyday cleaning, use a soft brush and a cleaning agent, such as soap and water, or products sold especially to clean dentures. To prevent the build-up of harmful bacteria, be sure to brush both the inside and outside of your dentures. We also recommend soaking your dentures in water or a denture cleaning agent when you take them out at night. Be sure to rinse off your dentures after soaking them as the chemicals can be harmful to the soft tissues in your mouth.

Avoid scrubbing dentures with abrasive materials such as stiff-bristled brushes, products containing bleach, or whitening toothpaste. These can damage the dentures. Water can warp your dentures if it is too hot, and soaking items that have metal fittings in chlorinated solutions can make the metal tarnish.
